Is it only me or has driving become a horrific ordeal ?
People's behaviour has become appalling and only a few minority follow any traffic rules.
These same people can be seen abroad as a perfect example of law abiding citizens.
So does anyone have any suggestions on how to make people behave in a more civil manner?

well Karima, from my own experience with driving, there is nothing to do to make people behave
ReplyDeleteeven when the traffic police raised all the fines, nothing became better
so the only way is to make yourself relax, try as hard as u can to ignore what they do, and do not let yourself lose temper cause you are the only one to be hurt ...
honestly the first thing i noticed here in Kuwait is how well organized the traffic is .. it made me really furious of how much i suffered in Cairo traffic, while here it is very organized and smooth..
ma3lesh ya benty.. it is one of life's punishments!
I am simply astonished for 2 things:
ReplyDelete1- You are just realizing this fact
2- You have doubts OMG!!!
Definitely the problem is with people's mentality......very unfortunate :(
Long time ago when it was just a problem, not a total disaster like now, there was hope and in fact Ahmed Roshdy (if u remember him) started successfully solving the problem till he was gone with elamn elmakazy events and things gone back to business as usual leading, over years of negligence, to the miserable status of traffic that is a world famous trademark for Egypt.
Just drive safe we 2ooly ya Rab
Thanks Lilli for ur symapathy:)
ReplyDeleteYa Mohamed, that's why the title is called "Revisited" !! I'm aware that everything has become intolerable. I totally agree with u that the mentality has gone down the drain/gutter/whatever.
I always say Ya Rab :)))
