Life Lessons : Relationships Once More

  • You must be yourself. No pretence is required because frankly it can’t be kept 24/7.
  • Being comfortable with the person is imperative.
  • I have learnt that love doesn’t conquer all unless both parties strive to make the relationship work.
  • It takes two to make things right.
  • He must accept me the way I am as I do him.
  • I will never allow any person to take me for granted.
  • Being able to talk to your loved one about anything is a major factor to keep the relationship going. Sexual attraction is not enough if there is silence.
  • Money matters have to be cleared up at the beginning of any marriage.
  • Genuine concern and caring about trivial things is also vital because it shows you that the person is keen on you.
  • Actions speak louder than words.
  • If guys want to do something, they will do it straight away without second thoughts.
  • Always listen to his ramblings and try to find what makes him happy.
  • He must go the extra mile for you at the beginning because afterwards you will always remember the good old times.
  • Love is not enough if he doesn’t care to know what you like/dislike.
  • He should always ask for your opinion not your permission. Even if he doesn’t agree with you, at least there will be common ground for discussing many issues.
  • At the start of the courtship, he shouldn’t take many business calls in your presence. After all this is supposed to be time spent getting to know one another.
  • Summing all the above, communication is a key factor. Without it everything wilts away. Life is tough and never rosy so when we find our other half, it is of utmost importance to know that you compliment one another.

I am not bitter and not blaming men for a specific problem. I'm just listing what I learnt.

Of course all the above also applies to girls/women. At the end of the day it depends on our upbringing and how we deal with one another.

Revisited: Driving in the Streets of Cairo

Is it only me or has driving become a horrific ordeal ?

People's behaviour has become appalling and only a few minority follow any traffic rules.

These same people can be seen abroad as a perfect example of law abiding citizens.

So does anyone have any suggestions on how to make people behave in a more civil manner?
